Important Faculty Contract Event March 12

The Adjunct Faculty Union and Core Faculty Union Organizing Committee cordially invite you to attend a ‘Report Back’ from the Adjunct Union Contract Bargaining Committee – set for Thursday, March 12 at 12pm in UHall 2-048. Light refreshments will be served.

Decisions are being made in the adjunct negotiations that affect our students and Lesley’s educational mission. These decisions are important to all faculty, and both the Adjunct Union and the Core Faculty Union Organizing Committee believe it is critical to take an inclusive approach to discussing the adjunct bargaining committee’s choices and possible next steps with all Lesley faculty – core and adjunct alike.

Thursday, March 12
12:00pm to 2:00pm
(light refreshments provided)

University Hall, 2-048

While the Adjunct Bargaining Committee has made a good deal of progress in the last few months towards negotiating a successful first contract, key issues remain open, including:

  • Adjunct appointments and course assignments: is a more stable faculty important to students and Lesley?
  • In what ways can adjuncts best support and participate in faculty life at Lesley?
  • Compensation: How do we move past low pay and no benefits of the teaching faculty? How does Lesley value teaching and all those who teach?

Join us to hear a full report on the ongoing negotiations, to engage in open discussion about where the negotiations should go from here and to dialogue about the value of faculty unionization in general.

Questions? Need additional information? Contact Ian Adelman at 508.314.4417(adjuncts) or Zev Nicholson at 617.678.8874 (core).
