Lesley Faculty Union Statement on the Appointment of Jeff A. Weiss

CAMBRIDGE – Lesley Faculty Forward, the union of Adjunct and Core Faculty at Lesley University, released the following statement today regarding the announcement of Jeff A. Weiss as the university’s new president. A former adjunct faculty member at Dartmouth and West Point, Weiss is set to assume the post July 1, 2016 – succeeding current president Joseph B. Moore.

“The adjunct and core faculty representatives of Lesley Faculty Forward congratulate Jeff Weiss on his appointment to President of the University, and welcome him to our community.

“At the heart of Lesley’s mission and core values is the concept of community. It is this collaborative, inclusive spirit that propels the work that we engage in, sustains the relationships that we develop, and results in transformative education for the students who choose Lesley. After a nearly year long search, and much inquiry and reflection, Lesley University’s community effort has resulted in the appointment of the next leader of our institution.”
